Weather alert: Bradenton under fog advisory in advance of cold front

MANATEE -- A dense fog advisory remains in effect for the Tampa Bay region, including Bradenton, Sarasota and surrounding areas, until 9 a.m. Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

"Areas of dense fog will continue through this morning within a very moist environment," the Weather Service said early Thursday. "Motorists heading out for the morning commute should expect to encounter locations of very low visibility and difficult driving conditions. Visibility will improve during the middle and later morning hours.

Later in the day, a strong cold front will move southeast across the region, according to the Weather Service.

For Bradenton on Thursday, the Weather Service was calling for a high of 78 and a low at night of 49. There is an 80 percent chance of rain during the day.

For Friday, forecasters were calling for sunny skies and a high of 58 and a low of 44. By Saturday, high temperatures were expected to again be in the 70s, according to the Weather Service.
