Manatee County seniors need government to help with golf-cart restriction

January 2, 2014

Cold weather has allowed the snowbirds (as we call them) to come to Florida to enjoy the sun, warmth, weather, beaches and spend their hard-earned money and to ride their golf carts within their own parks but not on the eight-foot-wide sidewalk on U.S. 301 -- due to local and state laws.

We as golf cart riders have spent several dollars to show how pretty the carts can look with colored lights, etc. The distance from the entrance from Terra Siesta to Colony Cove is 209 yards where a traffic light is the only place to cross into Colony Cove South.

Will the local government help seniors with the golf cart problem?
