Julie Horstkamp of Berlin Patten, PLLC has been reappointed by the Florida Bar to serve another two year term on the Florida Realtor-Attorney Joint Committee representing the 2nd Appellate District of Florida. During her last term, Horstkamp assisted in authoring the newly revised Florida Realtor-Florida Bar Residential Contract for Sale and Purchase, widely used for residential real estate transactions.
Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine Bradenton faculty members Dr. Thomas Quinn, Dr. Robert Glinski and Dr. Robert George were named as "Guardians of the Profession" by the American Osteopathic Association. All three have been instrumental in advancing the culture of osteopathic medicine by serving in local, state or national leadership roles. LECOM President and CEO Dr. John Ferretti and Provost Dr. Silvia Ferretti were also named as "Guardians".
Doctor Rick Paras has joined the Cancer Center of Sarasota-Manatee, a member of the MAXhealth family of physicians and services. He will see patients at both the Sarasota office, 3830 Bee Ridge Road, and the Bradenton office, 3501 Cortez Road W. Paras is board certified and is a member of the American
Society of Clinical Oncology. A native of the Philippines, he finished his undergraduate course at the University of Santo Tomas, Asia's oldest university. He graduated with honors and continued on to receive his medical degree from the same university. Paras practiced medicine in the Philippines for a few years prior to continuing his studies in the United States. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the St. Vincent's Medical Center/New York Medical College. He then completed a fellowship in medical oncology at the Medical College of Pennsylvania/Allegheny General Hospital.
Liz Codola, a sales associate with Island Real Estate of Anna Maria Island, has earned her broker's license. Codola, the company's newest broker associate, has been a real estate agent for 16 years, and has partnered with David Teitelbaum at Island Real Estate for the past two years. Originally from New York, Codola spent several years in California and Hawaii. After visiting Anna Maria Island she found her home. She has been a licensed Realtor in Florida for the past 14 years working primarily on the barrier islands off Manatee and Sarasota counties.
