Bradenton motorcyclist killed in Sunday collision

MANATEE — A 62-year-old Bradenton man was killed in a two-vehicle collision at 5:27 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of 30th Avenue East and Fourth Street East, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP homicide investigator Cpl. L.M. Smith reported Louis Grossl was alone on his 1995 Electra Glide traveling westbound on 30th Avenue East approaching Fourth Street East when 50-year-old Anna Woodward of Sarasota turned her 1998 Honda SUV left into the path of the motorcycle, which braked and overturned on its right side in an attempt to avoid a collision.

Grossl was wearing a helmet when thrown onto the roadway, FHP reported. He was taken to Blake Medical Center was he was pronounced dead, according to FHP.

Woodward and her 55-year-old male passenger from Bradenton sustained minor injuries, according to FHP. Woodward was ticketed for failure to yield right-of-way.
