Emily Bulfin led the way with 16 points and five steals Saturday night as the Lakewood Ranch girls basketball team defeated Tampa Steinbrenner 41-37 at the Queen of the Palms tournament in Lehigh Acres.

The Mustangs (14-1) advanced to Monday's final of the Pearl Division. They will take on Harmony at 8:30 p.m.

LaDazhia Williams added nine points and seven rebounds and a key three-point play in the final minute for Lakewood Ranch.

Boys basketball

SAINT STEPHEN'S 55, ST. PETERSBURG DIXIE HOLLINS 51 -- The Falcons never trailed, getting 14 points from Omar Sammour and 12 from Sid Price in a victory at the Keswick Christian tournament.

The Falcons (4-6) will meet St. Petersburg Canterbury in their final tournament game at 2:30 p.m. Monday


CHRISTMAS KNOCKOUT KLASSIC -- The Manatee wrestlers fared well in the prestigious tournament at Kissimmee Osceola, placing eighth out of 32 teams.

Caleb Rudisill (126 pounds) and Jesse Fulk (160) each placed second after suffering their first losses of the year. Dakoda Dossey (170) was fourth, and Tyrek Hoyte finished seventh for the Hurricanes.
