3 injured in Palmetto crash; 4-year-old and driver ejected

PALMETTO — A one-vehicle crash at 7:24 a.m. Wednesday caused a 1997 Saturn SL to overturn, ejecting the driver, 19-year-old Brianna Solis, and a 4-year-old male passenger.

The two were transported to Bayside Medical Center along with a 20-year-old male passenger.

The Florida Highway Patrol reported no one inside the vehicle was wearing a seat belt. Solis is charged with careless driving and failure to use a child restraint.

The vehicle was westbound on Buckeye Road approaching 31st Terrace East, FHP reported, when the driver fell asleep behind the wheel. When the vehicle hit curb on 31st, the vehicle became airborne, FHP reported, and came to rest in a grass ditch south of Buckeye Road.
