Man punched, robbed outside Manatee County Courthouse

BRADENTON -- A man was punched and robbed outside the Manatee County Courthouse early Tuesday morning, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office reports.

The 42-year-old victim was sitting outside the building, at 1115 Manatee Ave. W., around 2:40 a.m. when he was reportedly approached by two men who demanded money from him before punching and taking his money.

The victim suffered minor injuries, the sheriff's office said. The report did not indicate how much was stolen.

The suspects could not be located. They are described as two men in their 30s, both between 5-foot-9 and 5-foot-11 and weighing between 130 and 200 pounds. One was wearing a red shirt and blue jeans, the other a gray shirt and shorts, according to the report.
