BRADENTON -- A 21-year-old Bradenton man has been charged with aggravated battery on a woman seven-months pregnant with his child.

Authorities say Nestor Hernandez should have known the victim was pregnant when, according to a Bradenton Police Department report, he grabbed her by the neck and pulled her to the ground at 7:57 p.m. Sunday in the 1900 block of 7th Ave. E., Bradenton, according to a Bradenton Police Department report.

The victim told officers that once she was on the ground, Hernandez grabbed her by the arm and began shaking her. Hernandez also grabbed her cell phone, the report indicates.

Hernandez and the victim were fighting because the victim had arrived home from work late, according to the report.

The victim told authorities she tried to leave several times but Hernandez told her she couldn't leave.

The victim said she feared for her life and, because of that, did not try to make anymore attempts to leave for awhile.

The victim was finally able to get access to her phone and called her parents to come get her. Once her parents arrived, 911 was called, according to the report.

Hernandez, who was arrested Sunday, remained in the Manatee County jail Monday subject to a $2,500 bond, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office website.
