Remember our troops, especially during Christmas

December 23, 2013

He comes every Christmas

In the dark of the night

What can he give

To the soldiers who fight?

They lay in the sand

No room for a tree

With rifles at hand

So we can live free.

What can he give

To make their day bright.

Presents with ribbons

On this dark lonely night?

As he looks at each one

His eyes fill with tears

He knows most have been here

For too many years.

He looks in his bag

No presents to leave

So he looks to his heart

That he wears on his sleeve.

To each he gives Love

From families afar

And memories of

That one Special Star.

He leaves them with Hope

And Peace soon to be

And reminds all of us

Freedom's not Free.

Please remember our troops this Christmas.
