Southbound I-75 traffic detours for work on Sarasota span

December 22, 2013

SARASOTA — All southbound traffic will detour off Interstate 75 at Marker 184 in Sarasota County from 10 p.m. Sunday to 8 a.m. Monday for repairs at Ponce de Leon overpass.

The span was damaged by a raised truck bed slamming into it in an accident last week.

Traffic will be detoured at River Road Exit 191 and travel west to southbound U.S. 41, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.

Motorists will go approximately 9 miles to Sumter Boulevard, turn east and continue to the southbound entrance ramp onto I-75 at Exit 182.
