Green Ford Explorer involved in Manatee hit-and-run

MANATEE — Authorities are looking for a green Ford Explorer from a hit-and-run crash in Manatee County at 11:10 p.m. Saturday.

The incident occurred at 26th Avenue West and Fifth Street West, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.

The Ford Explorer, reportedly driven by a man with a female passenger and children, raced south across 26th Avenue West and hit a 1994 Toyota Camry driven by an 18-year-old Bradenton woman wearing a seat belt who was uninjured.

The victim told troopers the Explorer had damage to the front from the accident.

She said the suspect driver was in his 20s, approximately 5-foot-6, average weight, tattooed arms and had black hair in a fade cut.
