December 21, 2013

A man was beaten while he was sitting outside of a Bradenton residence smoking crack cocaine with friends Saturday morning, according to police.

The victim was outside the residence in the 200 block of Seventh Avenue Drive East smoking crack with the group around 2 a.m. when one of the individuals attacked him, Bradenton police said. The suspect "knocked him down and hit him repeatedly on his face" and went through his pockets, the victim told police.

The suspect fled the scene eastbound on Seventh Avenue Drive East. A K-9 unit from the Manatee County Sheriff's Office could not locate him.

The suspect is described as a man with medium build wearing a white T-shirt and black pants.
