Man beaten, robbed outside Bradenton gas station

HERALD STAFF REPORTDecember 21, 2013

— A man was beaten and robbed outside a Bradenton gas station early Saturday morning, Bradenton police said.

The victim was sitting at the air pump at the Marathon gas station, 2009 14th St. W., around 12:45 a.m. when a man threatened to beat him up if he didn't give him all of his money, according to a police report.

The victim refused, so the suspect punched him in the face, causing a large laceration under his eye. The suspect then went into the victim's pocket and stole $200 cash.

The suspect, a man between 20 and 25 years old known only as "Brian" or "Ryan," was last seen heading east on 21st Avenue West, police said.
