LAKEWOOD RANCH -- Sarasota Polo Club will host the 2014 Ultimate Frisbee Masters Championships from July 18-20, the sport's governing body announced Friday.

"USA Ultimate has had a long-standing relationship with Sarasota with their Club Championships being here for 13 years," stated Nicole Rissler, director of sports for the Sarasota County Sports Commission, a division of Visit Sarasota County. "We are thrilled to have them returning in 2014 with their Masters Championships."

The Sarasota Polo Club has previously hosted both the USA Ultimate Club National Championships and the Masters Championships, according to the USA Ultimate website.

Hosted by the Sarasota County Sports Commission, July's event will feature 16 teams in each of the men's masters, women's masters and grand masters divisions that will compete for national titles in 2014.

"We are honored to host the 2014 USA Ultimate Masters Championships here in Sarasota," said tournament director Tim Naylor. "We welcome the returning players from years past as well as those making their first trip. With our world-renowned fields and beautiful white sand beaches, we plan on making this tournament an adventure the whole family can enjoy."
