Holiday 5K Run/Walk: A Holiday 5K Run/Walk will be held at noon Dec. 21 at Sutton Park, 1050 Sixth St. W., Palmetto. Registration is $20. Proceeds will benefit Palmetto Boys and Girls Club and Community Outreach. Information: 941-448-7123 or www.krunnersevents.com.

Cornhole tournament and fundraiser: Tarpon Pointe Grill and Tiki Bar will host a Cornhole Tournament 2 p.m., with registration starting at 1 p.m., Dec. 21 at 801 Riverside Dr. E., Bradenton. Donation per player: $20. Proceeds will benefit the United Way. Information: Trisha Lampi at 941-742-5923.

Sixth Annual Shamrock Shiver Charity Plunge: The sixth annual Shamrock Shiver Charity Plunge, a local fundraiser, will be at noon Jan. 1 at Gulf Drive and 12th Street South on Bradenton Beach, followed by a Post Plunge Party will follow at Clancy's, 6218 Cortez Road, Bradenton. There will be door prizes and live music by the Jack Tamburin Band. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Proceeds will benefit Caring for Children Charities. Information: 941-952-1109.

Cafe L'Europe WEDU Fundraiser: Cafe L'Europe will be transformed into the formal dining room of Downton Abbey, as WEDU hosts a Season Four Premiere Dinner for the Masterpiece enthusiasts, 7 p.m. Jan. 13 at 431 St. Armands Cir., Sarasota. Enjoy an intimate dining experience in the true Crawley tradition, 1920s inspired aperitifs and after-dinner cocktails, period themed entertainment, lavish decor, and more. Tickets: $250. "Looking into the Crystal Ball": The Friends of the Selby Public Library will host the fourth annual casual fundraiser "Looking into the Crystal Ball" 6-9 p.m. Jan. 8 at 1331 First St., Sarasota, featuring over two dozen local restaurants and food vendors offering tasty samplings of their specialties. Attendees can enjoy an eclectic variety of more than 30 continuous quality performances, intuitive readers and specialty acts, plus over 50 exhibits including art, authors, and wellness. Dinner Dance Symphony Fundraiser: The Manatee Association of the Sarasota Orchestra will sponsor a dinner dance 6 p.m. Jan. 15 in the ballroom of Pier 22, 1200 First Ave. W., Bradenton, featuring a special performance and dancing. Neil Diamond Dinner Theater Fundraiser: Anna Maria Island Community Center will host Bobby Palermo, impersonating Neil Diamond in a dinner and show 6 p.m. Jan. 18 at 407 Magnolia Ave., Anna Maria. UNCF Manatee/Sarasota 30th Anniversary Celebration Scholarship Award Gala: The UNCF Manatee/Sarasota Campaign Committee will hold its 30th Anniversary Celebration Scholarship Awards Gala beginning with a cocktail hour at 6 p.m. followed by dinner and the program at 7 p.m. Jan. 24 at the Sarasota Hyatt, 1000 Blvd., of the Arts, Sarasota. Tickets: $85. Proceeds will benefit the UNCF programs providing scholarships and internship programs for students from low- and moderate income families. Walk for the Poor Fundraiser: The St. Vincent de Paul Conferences of St. Joseph Church and Sts. Peter and Paul the Apostles Church will sponsor a Walk for the Poor, 9 a.m. Jan. 25 at the Bradenton Riverwalk, downtown Bradenton. Cost: free will donation. Twenty-fifth annual Catholic Charities Ball: The 25th annual Catholic Charities Ball will begin with a cocktail reception at 6 p.m. followed by dinner and dancing Jan. 25 at the Ritz-Carlton, 1111 Ritz-Carlton Drive, Sarasota.
