Manatee sheriff releases video of possible suspect in 'smash-and-grab' burglaries

MANATEE -- Three businesses in Bradenton on Monday night were hit by "smash-and-grab" burglars, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

Tuesday afternoon, the sheriff's office released surveillance video from a similar break-in on Dec. 10 at Face Forward Facial Studio. 2038 43rd Ave. W. Detectives believe the man shown in the video could be a suspect in the latest burglaries, according to the sheriff's office.

About 12:20 a.m. Tuesday, deputies responded to a report a smashed front glass door at Lakeside Plaza Barber Shop, 2012 Cortez Road W., according to a news release.

While searching the area, deputies saw that a second business, Annie's Pet Grooming, 4028 20th St. W., also had a smashed front door, according to the report.

As they continued searching, deputies received a report that a third business, Oneco Flowers, 5012 15th St. E., also had a window smashed in, the sheriff's office said.

The report did not say whether investigators believe the break-ins were related of if anything was taken.
