Bradenton police nab vandals at city park

December 15, 2013

MANATEE — Three juveniles were seen breaking items around 1 a.m. Sunday at Normal Lloyd Park, 922 24th St. E., Bradenton, according to the Bradenton Police Department.

An 11-year-old and a 13-year-old were released to their parents from the police station after they were seen vandalizing items in the park earlier, according to a Bradenton Police Department report.

A 16-year-old reportedly told officers the trio committed the criminal mischief.

A witness told police saw the three trying to break into the equipment storage area, the report indicates. The trio ran when police officers arrived and were caught after a short chase.

Officers discovered damage to the bathrooms at the ballfield and recently installed lights smashed out. The suspects knocked over fixed trash cans, too, according to the report.
