Suspect escapes Taser, still nabbed by Bradenton police

December 14, 2013

A suspect escaped a Taser deployment but still ended up in custody of police following a traffic stop early Saturday in Bradenton.

Officers made the stop just after 1 a.m. in the 700 block of 10th Avenue West, according to a Bradenton Police report.

During the stop, the suspect fled from an officer on foot, the report states. The officer deployed a Taser, but only one probe made contact with loose clothing.

The suspect, who was not identified in the report, was apprehended a short time later and was facing narcotics possession charges.

No further information was immediately available.
