Palmetto holiday reindeer suffers attack

HERALD STAFF REPORTDecember 13, 2013

PALMETTO -- Some crimes fall into the category of horrible and evil.

Then, there are the crimes that are just plain mean.

Meanness is what a Palmetto woman may have felt when someone slashed her inflatable plastic reindeer that she had put out for the holidays.

The act of criminal mischief occurred sometime around 5 p.m. in the 2600 block of First Avenue East, Palmetto on Wednesday, according to a Manatee County Sheriff's Office report.

According to the victim, she came home and found the reindeer ornament suffering from two slashes.

The victim told authorities she had no idea as to who could have caused the damage, the report states.
