Manatee Sheriff's Office honors 4 employees

Manatee County Sheriff Brad Steube on Friday honored three deputies and a civilian employees during his agency's annual awards luncheon Friday.

The honorees were:

-- Deputy Joseph Scott, 2013 Deputy of the Year, for pulling a child from a neighbor's pool April 17 and performing CPR until she regained consciousness.

-- Christopher Foy, 2013 Employee of the Year, for rescuing an injured victim of a jet ski accident June 22 at Big Pass in Sarasota County.

-- Deputy Thomas Beckerleg, 2013 Robert E. Molter Volunteer of the Year, for his work as a track and field coach at Manatee High School.

-- Detective James Wischer, 2013 Bealls Humanitarian of the Year, for his work on behalf of children vicitimized by sexual abuse and exploitation.
