MANATEE -- Four suspects in a carjacking in Sarasota were arrested in Bradenton after a police chase, according to authorities.

Late Wednesday, a Kia Sorrento was reported stolen during the carjacking, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

About 10:23 p.m., a Bradenton police officer saw the car in the 1200 block of Third Street West and after identifying it as being stolen, police attempted a traffic stop. The driver fled, police said.

Officers pursued the car into the county, and Manatee sheriff's deputies took over the chase near the intersection of Ninth Street East and 53rd Avenue East.

During the pursuit, the vehicle struck a curb, disabling it. The sheriff's office helicopter followed the car to the 900 block of 63rd Avenue East, where it went into a yard and two of the occupants ran away, according to the sheriff's office. The other two were arrested.

Deputies, including K-9 units, set up a perimeter and about an hour later, one of the suspects was located and arrested. The fourth suspect remains at large.

All of the suspects were juveniles, according to the sheriff's office.

During the chase, a deputy followed the car into the yard and accidentally stuck a vacant house, pushing the corner of its foundation by about three feet, the sheriff's office said. The deputy was not hurt.
