Philippine typhoon fundraiser: State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota Fine Art Gallery, SCF Museum Club and Manatee Habitat for Humanity will host a Philippine typhoon art fundraiser and sale "What is Home?" 5-7 p.m. Dec. 13 at the Fine Art Gallery at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W., Bradenton. All proceeds from the art sale will be donated to Manatee County Habitat for Humanity to support typhoon victims. Information: 941-752-5225

Uncle Gerry Concert and Fundraiser: Allisongs for Tots and Music & Me, LLC are jointly producing a benefit concert 5:30 p.m. Dec. 14 at Arlington Gymnasium, 2650 Waldemere St., Sarasota, to benefit 4-year old Teeja Johnson, who takes music classes at Allisongs for Tots. Teeja has been battling neuroblastoma, an aggressive pediatric cancer. The concert is free and appropriate for families with children ages 8 and younger and features singer/performer Gerry Dignan "Uncle Gerry", performing favorite Music Together songs. Renaissance Feast: Saint Joseph Catholic Church will host a Renaissance Feast beginning with a concert 5:15 p.m. followed by a procession, dinner and musical entertainment by students in period costumes Dec. 14 at 3100 26th St. W., Bradenton. Tickets: $7-$15. Information: 941-756-3732.

Christmas Costume Gala: Renaissance on 9th, 1816 Ninth St. W., Bradenton

Keep Manatee Beautiful and Olive Branch Hair Studio will host a Christmas Costume Gala 6-10 p.m. with dinner at 6 p.m. Dec. 14 featuring a silent auction, dining and dancing to live music by the Soul Sensations. Masters of Ceremonies are ABC 7's Chief Meteorologist Bob Harrigan and magician-illusionist Ken Chandler. Attendees are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite Christmas character or in formal attire, prizes will be awarded for the most creative costumes. Tickets: $75. Annual "Embracing Our Differences" Luncheon: The "Embracing Our Differences" annual luncheon will be at noon Dec. 18 at Michael's on East, 1212 East Ave. S., Sarasota. The event pays homage to the organization's acclaimed education initiatives. Students, teachers, artists and volunteers will share the many ways Embracing Our Differences' program have changed and inspired them. Tickets: $25. Taste, Dining and Travel "Toys for Tots": Enjoy Sarasota's newest restaurant "Roast" as it hosts a Toys for Tots fundraiser 6:30 p.m. Dec. 18 at 1295 First St., Sarasota, featuring an appetizers and champagne reception followed by a fabulous three-course meal prepared by Chef Andrew Thompson. Sixth Annual Shamrock Shiver Charity Plunge: The sixth annual Shamrock Shiver Charity Plunge, a local fundraiser, will be at noon Jan. 1 at Gulf Drive and 12th Street South on Bradenton Beach, followed by a Post Plunge Party will follow at Clancy's, 6218 Cortez Road, Bradenton. There will be door prizes and live music by the Jack Tamburin Band. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. Proceeds will benefit Caring for Children Charities. Information: 941-952-1109.

"Looking into the Crystal Ball": The Friends of the Selby Public Library will host the fourth annual casual fundraiser "Looking into the Crystal Ball" 6-9 p.m. Jan. 8 at 1331 First St., Sarasota, featuring over two dozen local restaurants and food vendors offering tasty samplings of their specialties. Attendees can enjoy an eclectic variety of more than 30 continuous quality performances, intuitive readers and specialty acts, plus over 50 exhibits including art, authors, and wellness. Dinner Dance Symphony Fundraiser: The Manatee Association of the Sarasota Orchestra will sponsor a dinner dance 6 p.m. Jan. 15 in the ballroom of Pier 22, 1200 First Ave. W., Bradenton, featuring a special performance and dancing. UNCF Manatee/Sarasota 30th Anniversary Celebration Scholarship Award Gala: The UNCF Manatee/Sarasota Campaign Committee will hold its 30th Anniversary Celebration Scholarship Awards Gala beginning with a cocktail hour at 6 p.m. followed by dinner and the program at 7 p.m. Jan. 24 at the Sarasota Hyatt, 1000 Blvd., of the Arts, Sarasota. Tickets: $85. Proceeds will benefit the UNCF programs providing scholarships and internship programs for students from low- and moderate income families.
