FPL gives away Christmas trees and energy saving tips

HERALD STAFF REPORTDecember 12, 2013

BRADENTON -- Florida Power & Light teamed with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County to give away 200 Christmas trees complete with LED lights Wednesday night at Jessie P. Miller Elementary School in an effort to educate the public about energy efficiency.

Along with the tree giveaway, FPL's energy specialists offered money-saving, energy-efficient tips for folks who want to get their homes ready for the holidays.

Those who received trees were also encouraged to take a free Online Home Energy Survey at FPL.com/OHES -- where customers can create a personalized energy-savings plan with more energy-saving tips and incentives, based on their unique patterns of energy use.
