Corey Davis scored the go-ahead bucket with four seconds remaining on a feed from Tre Alexandrea as the Southeast boys basketball team defeated host Booker for the second time this season 49-48.

The game was tied at 47 when Davis scored on a layup. The Tornadoes had a chance to win when Andre Johnson was fouled while attempting a 3-pointer with 0.4 seconds remaining. But he made only one of the three free throws.

Ronald Taylor led the Seminoles (6-2) with 15 points. Davis had 14 points and six rebounds, and Alexandrea contributed 11 points and eight assists.

Southeast defeated Booker 72-61 on Nov. 29 as part of the Palmetto Turkey Classic.

Girls basketball

MANATEE 55, BAYSHORE 26 -- Jada Guion's 18 points paced the host Hurricanes, who improved to 4-5 with a victory over the Bruins. Jacqui Armer had 10 points and 11 rebounds for Manatee.

Boys soccer

PALMETTO 2, SEMINOLE OSCEOLA 0 -- Usiel Martinez and Gregorio Calvillo scored first-half goals as the visiting Tigers got past the Warriors in Class 4A-District 10 action.

Matt Simmonds made six saves, and defenders Abel Dubon, Franky Arroyo and Ben Espinal turned in strong performances for Palmetto (10-1, 4-0).

Girls soccer

MANATEE 4, RIVERVIEW 1 -- The visiting Hurricanes moved to 6-2-1, 4-0-1 in Class 5A-District 8, behind three goals from Meredith Roberts.

Clarissa Palmer scored the other goal for Manatee. Michaella Krebser, Jessica Schafer, Maia Krebser and Clancy Baughan had assists.

Girls weightlifting

PALMETTO TRI-MEET -- Every Tiger lifter scored as host Palmetto (41 points) defeated Lakewood Ranch (32) and Bayshore (30) in a tri-meet.

Palmetto's De-Zha Cooper (101-pound weight class) won with a total weight of 155 between bench press and clean and jerk. Teammates Halley Lawrence (110 class, 215 pounds lifted), Jessica McKinney (119, 200), Jennifer Elwell (169, 155) and Elizabeth Atkinson (183, 230) also won.

Lakewood Ranch got wins from Riley Bohan (139, 260), Kahlie Bickerstaff (154, 230) and Mariana Haynes (129, 190).

Bayshore's Alyssa Page (199, 240) and Brianna Potts (unlimited, 330) also won.
