'Click It or Ticket’ generates 788 citations

December 11, 2013

SARASOTA — The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office holiday Click It or Ticket Campaign from Nov. 18 to Dec. 1 generated 248 citations to motorists not wearing seatbelts, including two who did not properly restrain a child.

Another 426 motorists were cited for speeding, 75 for driving with a suspended driver’s license, 10 for reckless driving and 29 DUI arrests.

In Florida, all motorists are required to buckle up when riding in the front seat, and passengers under the age of 18 must use proper seat restraints regardless of where they are seated in the vehicle.
