December 9, 2013

MANATEE -- Assailants stole a man's can of gasoline as he walked along a Bradenton street Sunday evening, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

About 11:20 p.m., the victim had just filled up a gasoline can at a Shell station at the intersection of 14th Street West and 53rd Avenue West, and was walking east on 53rd Avenue West, near the Toale Brothers funeral home, when a car with four people inside pulled up in front of them, according to a news release.

One of the passengers got out and grabbed the gasoline can and fled back to the car. The car then sped away, according to the sheriff's office.
