'Carolina' makes off with man's wallet, deputies say

BRADENTON -- Deputies are searching for a woman who ran off with a local man's wallet, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

The 45-year-old man was at home in the 2800 block of 14th Street West in Bradenton around 5:20 p.m. Saturday with a woman named Carolina, whom he has known for six years, according to a news release.

Carolina was helping him to get a landscaping job by translating English to Spanish for him.

The victim said she reached into his back pocket, took his wallet and ran off.

Deputies have been unable to locate Carolina.

No injuries were reported.
