Gun flashed in downtown Bradenton parking lot

December 7, 2013

Police were investigating a report of a driver who flashed a handgun in a downtown Bradenton parking lot early Saturday morning.

Two juveniles at the Riverwalk skatepark alerted an officer around 12:57 a.m. that the driver of a newer, white Jeep Grand Cherokee had displayed the gun while parked in the Plaza Del Rio building parking lot, according to a Bradenton police report. They told officers the gun was not pointed at anyone.

A vehicle matching that description was later stopped on the Green Bridge, but officers determined it was not the same vehicle, authorities said.

A "be on the lookout" was issued for the vehicle, police said.
