Man robbed of money, pants, alcohol in Bradenton hotel parking lot

December 7, 2013

BRADENTON -- A man was robbed of his money, his pants and his alcohol in the parking lot of a Bradenton hotel Friday night, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office reports.

The 30-year-old victim pulled into a parking space at Days Inn, 3506 1st Street, around 8:20 p.m. next to his girlfriend's room, according to the sheriff's report.

A few moments later, another vehicle described as a silver Chevy truck pulled up in the space next to the victim. As the victim was sitting in his car with the driver's side door open, a man grabbed him by the shirt, pulled him out of the vehicle and pointed a gun at him, demanding that he give up all his money, according to the report.

The man attempted to strike the victim with the firearm but instead threw him to the ground, then pointed the gun at the back of the victim's head and asked him where he keeps his money.

The victim told him his money was in his shorts, so the man pulled them off him, deputies said. Meanwhile, a second man reportedly entered the victim's vehicle and took a bottle of liquor.

The two men got back into their truck with the stolen items and fled eastbound through the parking lot, the report states.

The incident was recorded on video surveillance and a copy was taken as evidence, authorities said.

The victim did not appear to be injured, according to the report.
