ANNA MARIA -- Anyone with the cash to rent near the beachfront on Anna Maria Island may soon be able to know what it's like to live like the mayor of that island town.

On Nov. 18, former Anna Maria Mayor Mike Selby sold his 2,802-square-foot home at 812 N. Shore Dr. to Bradenton-based Rysal Enterprises LLC for $1.6 million. The company owns at least one rental home on the island.Selby, who served as Anna Maria's mayor from 2010 to 2012, purchased a home in April on Perico Island with his wife, Mary.

The Selbys purchased the 0.15-acre property, which is located across the street from Bean Point, in 2005 for $627,400. It is a corner property, located at the intersection of North Shore Drive and Gladiolus Street.

According to Manatee County records, the previous owner was Peter Paul Zeimis.

The four-bedroom, four-bath house was built in 2007 by Winter Haven contractor Whitehead Construction. Amenities advertised by Anna Maria listing agent Barbara Sato show the home having heart of pine flooring, an elevator and views of the Gulf of Mexico.

Rysal Enterprises is managed by Lyn Puskas, and offices on Market Street in Bradenton. Rysal also owns a home at 789 N. Puskas did not immediately respond to an inquiry as to when or whether Rysal will rent the property.
