Thieves again steal copper wire from Lakewood Ranch site

MANATEE -- Thieves Wednesday stole a spool of copper wire that was going to be used to replace wire that had been stolen earlier in the week from a Lakewood Ranch work site., according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

On Sunday, 1,920 feet of wire was pulled out of the ground at 6125 Lorraine Road, according to a news release.

On Wednesday, "a spool of wire that was going to be used to fix light poles from the prior theft case was stolen out of the back of a work truck parked at the same location," the report states.

The report lists the victim of the theft as being the Lakewood Ranch Inter-District Authority.
