Rays reach 2-year deal with C Molina

St. Petersburg, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - The Tampa Bay Rays signed catcher Jose Molina to a two-year, $4.5 million contract on Monday.

Molina, 38, started a career-high 87 games at catcher last season, his second with the Rays. He appeared in 99 games overall and hit .233 with two homers, 14 doubles and 18 RBI.

For his career, Molina has batted .238 with 39 homers and 213 RBI over 867 games with the Cubs, Angels, Yankees, Blue Jays and Rays.
