December 2, 2013

MANATEE -- Deputies Sunday evening arrested two men as they tried to walk away with items they had stolen at a storage facility in East Manatee, according to the Manatee County Sheriff's Office.

About 5:50 p.m., deputies responded to a report that two men had been seen going into Add-A-Room Self Storage, 3805 53rd Ave. E. They caught the two men, Robert Condon and Marco Lara-Amerson, as they were leaving the business, according to a news release.

"Both suspects had stolen items, to include a firearm, in their possession at the time they were taken into custody," the report states. "A search of the yard revealed several RVs were entered and attempts were made to enter numerous RVs."

Condon, 44, and Lara-Amerson, 18, each face four counts of armed burglary and one count of attempted armed burglary.

They are being held at the Manatee County jail on bonds totaling $100,000 each.
