Manatee County fog to persist all Sunday night

December 1, 2013

MANATEE — The National Weather Service reported fog now limiting visibility over bridges and roadways in Manatee County will settle inland in the evening hours Sunday.

“It is only thick right now along the coast,” forecaster Ernie Jillson said. “There is a fog bank along the coast right now, but overnight we are expecting it to move back in over land.”

Fog is typical this time of year in Florida, he said. Visibility was down to a mile Sunday afternoon. Fog expected to linger overnight before burning off shortly after sunrise .

Monday’s forecast is for temperatures in the mid 70s with no rain predicted. “We are not expecting the fog to hang out as much (Monday) as it did (Sunday),” Jillson said.
