Manatee EMS employee detained after altercation at home

BRADENTON — Police were called to a Bradenton home to help a father control his drunken adult son, according to the Bradenton Police Department. Police went to the home in the 3500 block of Oxford Drive in Bradenton at 1:11 a.m. Sunday, according to a police report.

Initial reports indicated a firearm was involved, but officers determined that wasn't the case, according to the report.

The son, a 22-year-old Manatee County Emergency Management Services employee was detained, but not arrested.

His superior at EMS was notified of the situation and said the information would be passed along to the chief.
