Island Players benefit performance: The Island Players will host a benefit performance "Over The River And Through The Woods" by Joe Di Pietro 8 p.m. Dec. 3 at 10009 Gulf Dr., Anna Maria. The performance's proceeds will benefit the Anna Maria Island Concert Chorus and Orchestra. "A Bradenton Christmas Carol" dinner and presentation: Guests will be entertained by a unique presentation of "A Bradenton Christmas Carol," narrated by John Vita Dec. 3. The event kicks off with a reception at 6 p.m. followed by dinner and the presentation. The play, featuring local actors and actresses, will be interactive. There will be live entertainment by The Open Door Band and The Manatee Players Dickens Carolers. Tickets: $125. Proceeds will benefit Turning Points,

"Holiday Treasure Chest Raffle": Women's Leadership Initiative of United Way of Manatee County will host a "Holiday Treasure Chest Raffle" 5:30-7:30 p.m. Dec. 5 at Ezra Cafe, 5629 Manatee Ave. W., Bradenton. The Holiday Treasure Chest contains theater tickets, a limo ride, dinners, massages, golf games and some unexpected prizes. Attendees can enjoy complimentary hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar. There is no cost to attend but each attendee is asked to provide at least one raffle ticket stub as their admission. Proceeds of the event will benefit Women's Leadership Initiative of United Way of Manatee County. Information: 941-748-1313.

16th annual Jingle and Jog 5K Road Race: Community Haven for Adults and Children with Disabilities is proud to announce their 16th annual Jingle & Jog 5K Road Race, starting with registration at 7 a.m., followed by the race at 8 a.m. Dec. 7 at 4405 DeSoto Road, Sarasota. Registrants will receive commemorative a Jingle and Jog T-shirt and goody bags. Complimentary healthy snacks and beverages will be served to participants and place finishers will receive medals. A Haven Creators Art Show, door prizes and prize drawings will also be offered with 100 percent of the proceeds supporting Community Haven. "Creekside Holiday": SoMa Chef David Shiplett is supporting WMNF radio with "Creekside Holiday" 4-8 p.m. Dec. 8. A culinary feast featuring organic produce donated by Geraldson Community Farms. Come and enjoy southern style with a California attitude in a very contemporary setting. There will be DJ Marcie Finkelstein, and live music will be provided by Mountain Haller and Passerine. "Party For A Purpose II": The Prader-Willi Syndrome Association will host a "Party For A Purpose II," a holiday gift and quarter auction fundraising event 6-9 p.m. Dec. 10 at Gold Coast Eagle Distributing, 7051 Wireless Ct., Sarasota. The event will include a happy hour, holiday gift shopping at over 20 local merchants and a quarter auction. There will be prize drawings and giveaways. Tickets: $15. Proceeds of the event will help promote and fund research, provide education, and offer support to enhance the quality of life of those affected by Prader-Willi syndrome. Information: 941-734-5315.

"Puttin' on the Glitz" Holiday Dinner and Charity Auction: The Lakewood Ranch Women's Club annual dinner and charity auction "Puttin' on the Glitz" will be 5:30 p.m. Dec. 11 at The Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club Ballroom. 7650 Legacy Blvd., Lakewood Ranch. The event will feature an auction and live entertainment. Reservations are required by Nov. 27. Cost: $70. Philippine typhoon fundraiser: State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota Fine Art Gallery, SCF Museum Club and Manatee Habitat for Humanity will host a Philippine typhoon art fundraiser and sale "What is Home?" 5-7 p.m. Dec. 13 at the Fine Art Gallery at SCF Bradenton, 5840 26th St. W., Bradenton. All proceeds from the art sale will be donated to Manatee County Habitat for Humanity to support typhoon victims. Information: 941-752-5225

Renaissance Feast: Saint Joseph Catholic Church will host a Renaissance Feast beginning with a concert 5:15 p.m. followed by a procession, dinner and musical entertainment by students in period costumes Dec. 14 at 3100 26th St. W., Bradenton. Tickets: $7-$15. Information: 941-756-3732

Annual "Embracing Our Differences" Luncheon: The "Embracing Our Differences" annual luncheon will be at noon Dec. 18 at Michael's on East, 1212 East Ave. S., Sarasota. The event pays homage to the organization's acclaimed education initiatives. Students, teachers, artists and volunteers will share the many ways Embracing Our Differences' program have changed and inspired them. Tickets: $25.
