Bradenton woman injured in hit-and-run crash

MANATEE — A 20-year-old Bradenton woman suffered minor injuries Sunday when her vehicle was rear-ended by a hit-and-run driver, according to a Florida Highway Patrol report.

The crash occurred at 8:20 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 41 and U.S. 301, according to FHP.

The injured woman was stopped for traffic in her 1993 Honda Accord heading north on U.S. 41 when a newer model green SUV, possibly a Lincoln or Tahoe, with rims and a chrome front bumper, struck it from, , according to FHP.

The SUV driver, described as a slightly heavy male, possibly in his 20s, with short hair, reportedly fled from the crash scene northbound on U.S. 41 and east on 30th Avenue East, according to the report.

The woman was not taken to the hospital, FHP reports.

Anyone who may have witnessed this crash or has any knowledge as to the identity and or location of the hit-and-run vehicle or driver are asked to contact the Florida Highway Patrol at 239-938-1800.
