FHP: Driver dies in traffic crash in East Manatee

MANATEE -- A driver died from his injuries suffered in a traffic crash Wednesday morning in East Manatee, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident happened about 7:34 a.m. on 37th Avenue East at Morgan Johnson Road, near Bashaw Elementary School.

The driver, Celsey Jermiah Kizer, 18, of Palmetto, was southbound on Morgan Johnson Road when his 1989 Dodge Ram 350 left the road, and hit a ditch and a fence. He was taken to Blake Medical Center, where he later died, according to an FHP press release.
