Dolphins’ Mike Pouncey out against the Chargers

abeasley@miamiherald.comNovember 17, 2013

More bad news for the Dolphins' wafer-thin offensive line: Mike Pouncey will not play Sunday against the Chargers.

Pouncey had missed Friday's practice due to an illness that sent him to the hospital, but it was not believed to be a major issue at the time.

Even as of Saturday afternoon, the belief was Pouncey would play. That apparently has changed.

The Dolphins were already without Jonathan Martin (who's away from the team) and Richie Incognito (suspended). Plus, top reserve lineman Will Yeatman is out for the year with a torn ACL.

That leaves the Dolphins with few options. One likely lineup includes Nate Garner shifting to center, with either Danny Watkins and Dallas Thomas starting at left guard.

Kickoff for Dolphins-Chargers is just after 4 p.m.
