MANATEE -- Tennis coach to the stars Nicholas Bollettieri and his wife Cindi have picked up a bayfront Northwest Bradenton home in one of their latest real estate deals.
The Bollettieris paid $1.275 million for a four-bedroom, four-bath home under 7,043 square feet at 709 NW 89th Ct. from Nicole and Michael Allen, according to the latest property transfer report by the Manatee County Clerk. The Allens paid $825,000 for the home in June 2011, according to the property appraiser's office. The home, located off of Palma Sola Bay, features a dock and boat lift, pool and an elevator.
The deal was completed with a $1 million mortgage from SunTrust, according to court records. The purchase closes just days after Bollettieris sold a $160,000 condo in Valencia Gardens on Oct. 25, according to property records.
The couple maintains several other properties in Manatee County, mainly around IMG Academy, according to property records.
Bollettieri, 82, is known for founding the Bollettieri Tennis Academy, teaching stars such as Venus and Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova, Monica Seles and Andre Agassi. The academy evolved into becomingIMG Academy, 5500 34th St. W, under the umbrella of sports conglomerate IMG Worldwide.
Bollettieri has grown outside of the IMG family, now partnering with XS Tennis Foundation, which is a part of a elite tennis academy in Chicago's south side, according to a report Thursday in Crain's Chicago Business.
