Shooting death in Bradenton ruled a suicide

November 13, 2013

BRADENTON — The death of a Bradenton mother of three found shot dead Wednesday afternoon has been ruled a suicide, according to Bradenton police.

Police were called out to the scene of a shooting at a home in the 1100 block of 14th Avenue West in Bradenton’s Village of the Arts just before 3 p.m. Wednesday.

The Manatee County Homicide Unit, which is comprised of detectives from several agencies in the county, was on scene along with Assistant State Attorney Brian Iten, part of a special prosecution unit that assists at crime scenes. “After finishing our interview with the husband and moving the body it became very obvious that it was a suicide,” Deputy Chief Warren Merriman said.
