ANNA MARIA -- The community is invited to join Roser Community Church at 10 a.m. Sunday with a service to recognize and thank those in our families, community and across the United States who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
Worship will also celebrate Founders' Day, a long-established tradition at Roser Church, to honor those who brought Roser Memorial Community Church into being.
It is also a time to remember those of our congregation who have passed since last Founders' Day. As each name is read, family members or a designated friend will be presented with a rose.
The Handbell Choir will play and the anthem, "For the Beauty of the Earth," originally an arrangement for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, will be performed by the Chancel Choir.
In 2010, the church began honoring one or more members who served as a volunteer and/or officer of the church's several boards and committees. This year five members of the congregation wil be recognized for outstanding volunteer service to Roser.
A display wilb be in the Narthex of handmade quilts, layettes, clothes and more made by the Sewing Ladies for migrant workers. These items will be dedicated during the service and distributed to migrant families after the Migrant Tea Nov. 15 at Manatee United Methodist Church.
After worship, everyone is invited to stay for refreshments and a time of fellowship outside the Narthex. Children will be dismissed after the Children's Message for their own special program. Nurseries available.
