PALMETTO -- A new location and new name will be unveiled for Palmetto Village Thrift customers at a Nov. 16 open house.

The Thrift Shop, a ministry of the First United Methodist Church of Palmetto, outgrew its store on Eighth in Palmetto and has moved into a new building at 333 10th Ave. W.

The Palmetto Village Thrift is double the size of the previous sales floor and a boutique section of higher-value clothing and shoes has been added.

Operating hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Since 1991 the Thrift Shop has been serving the community of Palmetto. The store provides low-cost quality clothing, household goods, furniture, books and electronics. All funds raised stay in the community, funding the ministry and the programs of the First Church of Palmetto.

The Thrift Shop needs donations, a perfect way to recycle. Everyone benefits from donations.

Gently used items and new items that you may need to dispose of can be delivered to the store from 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

Information: 941-729-1411.
