Bicyclist dies after crash in Sarasota

SARASOTA -- A 20-year-old man died after he crashed into a van while riding his bicycle in downtown Sarasota, according to Sarasota police.

About 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Victor Harley Foreman of Sarasota failed to obey a red traffic light at the intersection of 10th Street and Central Avenue and collided with a van that had the right of way, according to a news release.

Foreman was taken to Blake Medical Center in Bradenton, where he later died.

The driver of the van was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation, police said.
