Joint Casino Night to benefit children
BRADENTON -- Temple Beth El and the Bradenton Woman's Club are planning a joint Casino Night fundraiser at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Bradenton Woman's Club, 1705 Manatee Ave. W.
A portion of the monies raised will go to "Take Stock in Children."
Casino-style games, numerous chip and live auction surprises and a silent auction.

14th Street lane closed in Bradenton for emergency fix
BRADENTON -- There will be an emergency southbound lane closure on 14th Street West from Ninth Avenue West to 12th Avenue West starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday for emergency sanitary sewer repair.

BPD honors Wollard after ID of unknown crime victim
BRADENTON -- The Bradenton Police Department has named Officer Adam Wollard its November Officer of the Month.
The Sarasota Police Department contacted the Bradenton Police Department regarding an alleged felony Oct. 14 but the victim became unresponsive during the initial investigation, and had to be transported to Blake Hospital for medical evaluation.
The victim did not provide his identity prior to the medical episode. At Blake Hospital, the individual had distinctive tattoos, but no identification.
Wollard suggested taking a photo he could show to citizens in his district and shortly thereafter he obtained the male's identity, and was able to contact his mother.
"Wollard is continuously providing vital intelligence information to Bradenton detectives and surrounding law enforcement agencies," said Chief of Police Michael Radzilowski in a press release.
Little Caesars Love Kitchen to feed Bradenton needy
BRADENTON -- The Little Caesars Love Kitchen will roll into the Salvation Army and Our Daily Bread to provide pizza meals for 600 people in need on Wednesday and Thursday.
A pizza kitchen on wheels, the Little Caesars Love Kitchen travels across the continental United States and Canada meeting the needs of the hungry, the homeless and disaster survivors.
The Little Caesars Love Kitchen has fed more than 2 million people in 48 states and four Canadian provinces. It has also responded to disasters such as the recent tornadoes in Oklahoma, the hurricanes in the East and on the Gulf Coast, the site of the World Trade Center attacks Sept. 11, 2001, and the 1995 Federal Building bombing in Oklahoma City.
Local Little Caesars franchise owners and company regional offices donate all food and labor costs for the Love Kitchens. An estimated 50,000 Little Caesars franchise owners and employees have volunteered their time over the years to support the program in their local communities.
Beware Veterans Day road closures in Sarasota
SARASOTA -- The Sarasota Patriotic Observance Committee will stage the annual Veterans Day parade at 10 a.m. Monday at Main Street and Osprey Avenue in downtown Sarasota.
There will be several vehicle tow-away zones and a street closure notices will be in effect for the following times:
6 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - Gulfstream Avenue from Cocoanut Avenue to McAnsh Square;
8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - Main Street from U.S. 301 to Osprey Avenue;
8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - Osprey Avenue from Second Street to Ringling Boulevard;
8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - Links Avenue from Fruitville Road to Ringling Boulevard; and
9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. - Main Street from Osprey Avenue to Gulfstream Avenue.
