Manatee County School District seeks input on budget

MANATEE - The Manatee County NAACP is urging residents to attend the Manatee County Schools' Citizens' Advisory Committee meetings in which they will have an opportunity to fill out surveys on the school budget.

The series of meetings across Manatee County where a survey will be given to community members to determine their priorities for the Manatee County School Board's 2014-2015 Budget and the 5-year Strategic Plan begin tonight and run through the month.

The goal of the meetings is to include community input into the budget planning and strategic planning processes.

The meetings will be helpd from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. They will take place:

Nov. 5 at King Middle School, 600 75th St. N.W.

Nov. 7 at Harlee Middle School, 6423 9th Street East.

Nov. 12 at Buffalo Creek Middle, 7320 69th Street E., Palmetto

Nov. 14 at GD Rogers Elementary, 515 13th Ave. W.

Nov. 19 at Lakewood Ranch High, 5500 Lakewood Ranch Blvd.

Nov. 21 at Lincoln Middle, 305 17th St. W., Palmetto

The meetings will include food, homework help, tutoring and other educational activities for kids of all ages.
