Bradenton man charged with killing girlfriend early Sunday

BRADENTON -- A 47-year-old Bradenton man has been charged with killing his 47-year-old girlfriend early Sunday.

Linda Brown died of a gunshot wound just before 6:25 a.m. Sunday at Manatee Memorial Hospital. Terry A. Braddy, her live-in boyfriend, was taken into custody without incident. He was being booked into the Manatee County jail on Sunday afternoon.

At about 5:20 a.m., police responded to a 911 call at the couple’s residence in the 200 block of 19th Street East. They discovered Brown with a gunshot wound to her abdomen.

The Manatee County Homicide Investigative Unit has taken over the investigation.

Brown’s slaying is the eighth homicide in Bradenton during 2013, according to police.
