Bradenton robber flees with hamburger

November 2, 2013

— A man told a clerk at a Bradenton convenience store he had a gun and made off with a hamburger, a bottle of water and a couple dollars, the Manatee County Sheriff's Office reports.

The suspect, described as a man between 28 and 35 years old and wearing a white tank top and blue shorts, was inside the Sunoco gas station, 5912 15th St. E., around 6:45 a.m. Saturday selecting items and waiting in line, according to the sheriff's report.

When the suspect approached the counter, he had his right hand in his pocket and told the clerk he had a gun and wanted money, deputies said. "The gun was implied but not displayed," a news release states.

The man then fled with the burger, water and cash and was last seen heading westbound on 59th Avenue East, the sheriff's office said.
