UNIVERSITY PARK -- The new Mall at University Town Center will have something for the kids.

American Eagle Outfitters has plans to open a new location in the luxury mall, which is set to open in October 2014.

The Pittsburgh-based retailer specializes in trendy men's and women's clothing and accessories and should draw a youthful demographic.

"They are one of the most popular and most requested apparel brands for young adults," said Karen Mac Donald, director of communications for Taubman, developing partner for the mall with Benderson Development.

The company has posted job openings online for a full-time store manager and for part-time sales associates.

It's still too early to say how many people will be employed at the store, said Iris Yen, company spokesperson.

American Eagle joins anchors Macy's, Saks Fifth Avenue and Dillard's and restaurants Seasons 52 and Brio Tuscan Grille as confirmed tenants at the new high-end Mall at UTC.

The $315 million, 880,000-square-foot mall is set to open Oct. 16, 2014, and will include 115 stores.

American Eagle operates more than 1,000 stores in North America, including one at the Sarasota Square Mall and an AEO Factory store at Ellenton Premium Outlets.
