FHP reports Sarasota accident involves Bradenton driver

October 30, 2013

SARASOTA -- The Florida Highway Patrol reports no charges have been filed in a three-vehicle hit-and-run accident at 2:38 p.m. Tuesday at Bee Ridge Road and Beneva Road.

A 2011 Ford F-150 driven by a 34-year-old Bradenton resident was eastbound on State Road 758 when a big yellow truck, possibly a tree company truck, driven by an older male with dark hair, began to come into the left lane failing to yield for the Ford, according to FHP. The Ford's left front collided with a ladder attached to the yellow truck's trailer, FHP reported.

The ladder fell off the trailer on impact as the yellow truck fled the scene, FHP reported.

A 2010 Ford Fusion driven by a 56-year-old Sarasota woman was stopped facing west on SR 758 in the left-turn lane when the fallen ladder collided with car's left front. No injuries were reported by FHP. Anyone who may have witnessed this crash or has any knowledge as to the identity/location of the hit-and-run driver and/or vehicle, is asked to contact FHP at (941) 751-7647.
